Speaking at a press conference in the presidential palace (Arg), the German Defence Minister called for the urgent announcement of the presidential election results.
German Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said Tuesday during a joint press conference with President Ashraf Ghani that she hopes the Afghan election results are announced in the near future and that the results will be accepted to all stakeholders.
“Afghanistan’s international partners are long-term partners and the election results should lead to an inclusive national government,” said Ms Kramp-Karrenbauer.
President Ghani also praised German assistance in rebuilding the country, saying that in addition to direct assistance, Germany has made great efforts within the framework of the European Union and NATO as an extremely good partner and supporter of a stable Afghanistan in the region.
It is worth mentioning that visits and contacts of pro-government countries increased recently as according to experts, they try to persuade some electoral parties to accept the election results.
