“The trip was delayed by the U.S. government because of Mr. Ghani’s opposition to the text of a draft peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban,” sources said under conditions.
Reports suggest that Ashraf Ghani is expected to travel to Washington on Monday for talks with US president Donald Trump and announcing a joint declaration.
US is on threshold of a deal with the Taliban which will be finalized by Trump’s signature.
