The clash between the security forces and Taliban began on Friday and is still ongoing, but the battle escalated on Sunday as several checkpoints were collapsed to Taliban.
“At first, the country’s security forces followed the ten-day ceasefire with the Taliban, but now, the planes of Afghanistan’s armed forces target Taliban positions,” Naqibullah Haidari, the district governor of Jalriz district told media outlets.

According to him, the president has ordered: “not to have mercy on the enemies”.
President Ghani declared a partial ceasefire from 27th Ramadan to Eid days, then, extended it for more ten days. But Taliban group that declared a ceasefire with the Afghan government only in three-days of Eid embarked its operations.

Meanwhile, some security officials in Maidan Wardak – under conditions – told DID press agency via telephone that “the personnel of at least 13 public order checkpoints along with their ammunition in Jalriz district succumb to Taliban group as the group uses civilians as shields”.

Kabul – Bamyan highway is closed to traffic since the beginning of clashes between the security forces and Taliban fighters.
