Gov’t Negotiating Team to Leave for Qatar Tomorrow
Afghan government negotiating delegation is expected to leave Kabul for Doha tomorrow, where they will resume peace talks, says Afghanistan’s State Ministry for Peace.
State Ministry for Peace spokeswoman Najia Anwari said on Monday that the chairman and members of the government’s negotiating team are scheduled to travel to Doha on Tuesday.
Peace talks will resume when negotiating team arrives in Doha, she added.
According to her, the collective efforts of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s delegation are to successfully carry out the ongoing negotiations and reach a tangible and good result to ensure lasting and dignified peace in Afghanistan.
This comes as the government and Taliban negotiating teams met on Eid days and agreed to speed up peace talks.
However, the inter-Afghan peace talks have been stalled for months and the negotiations have not yielded significant progress so far.
