The acting head of the ministry of information and culture Mohammad Rasoul Bawari, military and civil officials, provincial council members, civil activists and people attended the festival.
“Holding such festivals will promote peace among the youths,” said the acting head of the ministry of information and culture M. R. Bawari. “we try to hold such festivals better in the coming years.”
Anwar Wafa Samandar, a representative of the local governing body, who also attended the festival said: “almond in Daikundi is important not only for the local economy of the people but also for the economy of the country.”
Local officials in the province say the purpose of these festivals is to introduce agricultural problems as well as showing the importance of marketing agricultural products in this province.
“The aim of holding Gul-e Badam festival, is to identify and introduce the most important agricultural problems in Daikundi province. We hope that we will be able to sell this product at a reasonable price by creating markets,” said Mahmoud Baligh, the governor of Daikundi province.
Almond is the main agricultural product of Daikundi Province, which according to local authorities of the province, farmers in Daikundi province have collected more than 24,000 metric tons of almond crops.
This is the second year that Gul-e Badam Festival was officially held by the local department of the province.
