Leading a government delegation, Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar left Kabul for New Delhi on Monday morning.
Afghanistan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Foreign Minister Haneef Atmar, leading a government delegation, left Kabul for a three-day visit to India.

According to the statement, bilateral ties, regional and international consensus on Afghan peace, and cooperation in the fight against terrorism are issues to be discussed with Indian officials.

During the visit, Atmar is scheduled to meet his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar and many senior government officials, including national security adviser Ajit Doval.
The Minister will also meet with former Indian ambassadors to Kabul, representatives of Afghan students, businessmen, and a number of Afghan refugees.

The visit comes after US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made an unannounced visit to Kabul on Sunday.
