Four people including a woman wounded during the clashes between the participants and security forces in northeastern Badakhshan province.
“The independent election commission of Badakhshan suffers widespread administrative and financial corruption. Bribery and relationship speak first at the bureau,” said Qudbuddin Qadiri, the elected representative of Badakhshan provincial council.

“Dozens of citizens in Badakhshan province protested because of widespread corruption in the provincial election administration, but when the authorities did not pay attention to the protesters and started the examination from 160 people inside the saloon, protests turned violent. Protesters attacked the security forces with stone and wood, and as a result, four protesters were injured during the clashes,” Qadiri explained.

“Protesters attacked the administration and clashed with the security forces due to failure to reach an agreement on the provincial election examination that four people were injured, including a woman,” Sanaullah Rohani, the provincial police spokesman told (DID) news agency.
The head of provincial election bureau M. Rasool Omeri meanwhile rejected the administrative and financial corruption, saying “those who could not manage to attend the process, carry out such actions.”

Earlier, a number of Badakhshan residents prevented the election commission to take the test for recruiting, claiming the examination was not fair and powerful people and those who have relationships were shortlisted.
Officials of the provincial electoral commission in Badakhshan say the process of taking the competitive test has now been postponed and will be held in the coming days.
