Residents of northern Baghlan province say that one of the commanders of Hezb-e Islami in this province has been involved in most cases of murder, robbery and harassment of the people, and the government has not taken any action in this regard.
A video released on social networks that shows one of the Hezb-e Islami commanders named Mirwais, took hostages several Baghlan residents and imprisoned them in a well.
“Three money changers in Pul-e-Khumri were kidnapped a few days ago by unidentified people, and were released after the attempts of police,” the provincial police spokesman Zabihullah Shoja told DID Press Agency.
Mr Shoja dismissed Mirwais involvement in this case. But a security official under the condition of anonymity said: “These people were found from the house of Mirwais and he himself fled from the area.”
“Mirwais is now wanted by the police,” the provincial council representative Mohammad Zarif Zarif told DID press agency confirming the news.
The residents of Baghlan province say Mirwais has been involved in most cases of murder and robbery and has requested money from the abductors who have been released.
Experts say Hezb-e Islami led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, has carried out anti-government and people activities before the peace deal with the government, and so far there have been many complaints from the party, but the government has not responded to any of them.
