IEC Backs up Voter Registration Figures / Fake Claimants Must Submit Documents
In response to the statements of Hezb-e Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) said this entity is responsible on the statistics of voter registration figure.
In response to the statements of Hezb-e Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) said this entity is responsible on the statistics of voter registration figure.
The leader of Hezb-e Islami claimed earlier this week that 8 million people have not registered for the parliamentary and district council elections and it is baseless.
Hekmatyar claimed that only 3 million people have registered themselves for the elections.
The IEC’s spokesman Sayed Hafizullah Hashimi on Wednesday rejected the claims posed by Mr Hekmatyar and said the election system is transparent and comprehensive.
“the IEC is responsible over the figures being provided, but questioning the registration of 9 million citizens is not fair and the claimants should provide credible documents,” Mr Hashimi added.
In reaction to the sales of 4 million election stickers, Mr Hashimi said that even one election sticker has not been sold.
However, concerns over the fraud and duplication by the election commission is getting hot these days.
