Protests continue over disqualifying candidates from the final list as the supporters of a candidate for the parliamentary election closed the IEC’s office in northern Baghlan province on Thursday.
The Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) dropped the names of 35 candidates of the 20 October parliamentary election earlier this week.

Protesters have closed the IEC’s offices in northern Badakhshan province during the past few days as well. they believe that the ECC has had a political approach towards them.
“there will be no change in the parliamentary candidates’ list,” said Alireza Rouhani, the secretary of ECC.

Meanwhile, observatory entities and the IEC said if the protests continue, the 20 October election may be postponed to a later time.
Yet, the IEC’s timetable indicates that the parliamentary and district elections will be held on 20 October 2018.
