Local officials say four villages of Faizabad district in northern Jowzjan Province have collapsed to the Taliban and Jawzjan-Balkh highway will be closed to traffic unless reinforcement troops sent soon.

The villages of Garjak, Shishakhana, Turkmania, Shirabad, and Khairabad were collapsed during massive Taliban raid.
Local public uprising commander Sahib Khan said: Jawzjan-Balkh highway would be closed to traffic unless reinforcement troops sent on time.

Meanwhile, Jawzjan Police Chief Faqir Mohammad clashes ongoing between the Afghan security forces and the Taliban militants.
3 militants were killed and three others wounded during clashes, he added.
