Kabul Suicide Bombing; Upper House to Summon Interior Minister

In response to a suicide attack on an ID card distribution center in western Kabul, the Senate accused the government of negligence in securing voter registration centers.

The chairman of the parliament’s Upper House Fazal Hadi Muslimyar said during the general meeting that the government failed to secure voter registration centers.
“The government has failed to provide the security of the voter registration centers during the first days while this process is expected to continue for two to three months,” the head of the Senate said.

Mohammad Hashem Alkozai, the chairman of the Senate’s Security Committee also accused the Interior Minister of being incompetent.
“When the Interior Ministry fails to secure the voter registration center in capital Kabul, so, what do people in other parts of the country expect from this ministry,” Mr Alkozai said.

The interior minister will be summoned to the Senate while according to the recent statistics, 58 people were killed and 119 injured in Sunday suicide attack on an ID distribution center in western Dasht-e Barchi area.
