Kabul, Tashkent to Sign Long-term Cooperation Agreement

President Ghani met with Uzbek foreign minister in the presidential palace on Monday, ARG said in a statement.
During the meeting, both sides discussed economic projects, peace talks led and owned by Kabul, and counter-terrorism.
Speaking about the completion of railway studies and the purchase of electrical equipment from Uzbekistan, Mr. Ghani and the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan agreed to work on the economic growth of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and the region based on the agreements already made.
Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan said the Tashkent conference was carried out under the umbrella Kabul process and in coordination with the Afghan government, adding that his country is ready for any kind of cooperation to provide peace in Afghanistan under the leadership of the Afghan people.
