Kabul will Not Attend Moscow Peace Summit: MoF

Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry said that government’s Representatives will not participate at the Moscow summit on peace in Afghanistan.


Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry said that government’s Representatives will not participate at the Moscow summit on peace in Afghanistan.
“On the government side, no one attends the meeting, but members of the High Peace Council, as an independent body, have decided to attend the meeting,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman Sibghatullah Ahmadi said.

According to Ahmadi, Afghanistan welcomes any peace summit, but in every talks on peace “the leadership and ownership of Afghanistan must be recognized”.

Meanwhile, officials from the Afghanistan High Peace Council (HPC) had said that a delegation of HPC will attend the Moscow conference.
“a delegation from the High Peace Council will participate in the Moscow peace conference on behalf of Afghanistan,” said HPC spokesman Sayed Ehsan Tahiri.
