“Khalid” spring operations launched

Last week, General Murad Ali Murad, deputy chief of army staff of national defense ministry reported about the launch of joint military operation called “Khalid” at a press conference in the government’s media information center.
The operations have been started yesterday, in those areas of the country that are dealing with terrorist threats. According to the newsletter, which was published by the government’s media information center.

“The pressure of Khalid operations will be intensified in areas that are more vulnerable. It was prioritized according to the threats and pre-planned programs.” Mr. Murad added.
“Khalid operations are underway offensively and with the support of air forces and country’s security troops in Sari-Pul, Faryab, Baghlan, Kunduz, Helmand, Uruzgan, Badghis and Farah provinces.” Deputy Chief of army staff stated.
“Khalid operations are launched after the military operations called “Shafaq” which were ongoing across the country.” He stressed.
Security forces are more determined than ever to suppress the terror groups, according to Gen. Murad Ali Murad.

“20 terror groups, including Daesh (ISIS) are against the people and the security forces. Repressing these groups is the main goal of Khalid operations.” He said.
‘Khalid’ operations, which are composed of forces from all military organs of the country, is a spring operation that will continue until 6 months.
