US special representative on the Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad says that he is getting ready to launch another mission in hope of making further progress after meeting three diplomats in Washington.
US special representative on the Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad says that he is getting ready to launch another mission in hope of making further progress after meeting three diplomats in Washington.
Mr Khalilzad has discussed the Afghan peace process with ambassadors of Germany and India as well as the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan in Washington.
“In addition to briefing management while in DC, I had the opportunity to consult with ambassador Haber of Germany, ambassador Shringla of India and Foreign Minister Kamilov of Uzbekistan on the Afghan peace process,” Khalilzad twitted Saturday morning.
“Getting ready to launch on another mission in hope of making further progress,” he continued.
US and Taliban representatives have held seven rounds of talks about the Afghan peace process so far.
