Kunduz Popular Uprising Commander Nawid Surrendered
Commander Nawid, a popular uprising commander who fought against insurgents in Khanabad district of Kunduz province, along with his 7 men surrendered to the Afghan government after a two-day siege in the city of Taleqan.

Commander Nawid, who had taken refuge inside a hospital, said the reason for his surrender was to prevent injury to the patients.
Meanwhile, according to reports, one police officer injured during clashes between Nawid and the policemen.
Commander Nawid transferred one of his men to the city of Talegan in Takhar province who was injured in clashes with Taliban, but moments later, the security forces of Takhar province besieged him and his men to arrest.
The detention series of the popular uprising commanders began with the arrest of Nezamuddin Qaisari and culminated with the arrest of Alipur in Kabul.
The arrest of Alipur in Kabul followed much unrests and the Afghan government was forced to release him after two days of detention.
