The leader of the U.S. Central Command, General Joseph Votel said Taliban will not be able to win the war in Afghanistan by shedding blood despite increasing their attacks.
Votel said on Friday in Dushanbe, Tajikistan that the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan would keep up military pressure on the Taliban in order to force them to join peace talks.
General Votel also called on the Taliban to use the generous peace offer by the government of Afghanistan.
The remarks come as Taliban leveled up their attacks in different parts of Afghanistan after announcing their “Al-Khandaq” military operation. Different provinces of Afghanistan, specially capital Kabul have witnessed the deadliest suicide attacks since launching al-Khandaq operation.
Hundreds of civilians, including women and children, killed or wounded as result of suicide attacks carried out by Taliban and Daesh terrorist group since the start of the new solar year.
In the past two years, Taliban had launched their spring operation by the name of “Mansori and Omari” which according to Afghanistan military officials, both operations failed.
In response to an increase in attacks by Taliban group, general Votel said: “the role played by Taliban is very destabilising not only in the north of Afghanistan but also in other parts of Afghanistan and we will keep up military pressure on them until they come to negotiation table.
