More than 60 percent of people covered by SCA Are Women
Officials of Swedish committee for Afghanistan (SCA) in north of the country say that they have covered 6200 people in these areas, while 60% of them are women.
According to (DID) news agency report, Najibullah Yazdanpanah, head office of S.C.A in Mazar-e-Sharif said, the office applies programs to education, rural development and health which 6200 people in the north of the country have benefitted from their technical and financial assistance.
“More than 60% of them are women,” he added.
YazdanPanah asserted that 3000 people with disabilities are covered with monthly contribution of Swedish committee that 45 percent of them are women too. As 3670 children with disabilities and non-disabled are covered by this institute, 2070 people are girls.
Human rights and gender official for SCA in Mazar-e-Sharif, Marmar Rabit said, they have established special education for girls with disabilities that blind and deaf girls and those who have movement problems are trained by experienced teachers to recover.
“They also offer social services for the needy and deprived women, especially those who live in remote villages, in addition to people with disabilities.” She added.
“Creating groups for Microfinance, small local economy and rehabilitation programs and teaching social issues are parts of these services.” Ms. Rabit said.
