NSA Mohib Discusses Six-party Meeting with his Russian counterpart

Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib discussed issues related to the six-party meeting between national security advisers (NSA) of Afghanistan, Iran, India, Russia, China and Pakistan with his Russian counterpart during a trip to Moscow.

The office of NSC said in a statement that the expansion of security and economic ties, mutual security cooperation, bilateral relations in various spheres, peace process, efforts to fight corruption and drug trafficking were among issues that Mr Mohib discussed with the officials of commonwealth of independent states.

During a meeting with Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of Security Council of the Russian Federation, NSA Hamdullah Mohib discussed expansion of security and economic ties as well as issues related to holding the second six-party meeting between NSAs of AFG, India, Russia, Pakistan, Iran and China.

It is worth mentioning that Mr Mohib has also had separate meetings with the NSAs of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Belarus in his trip to Moscow, where he attended the 7th Meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States NSAs.
“The best option for the region to curb the threats is to work with the Afghan security and law enforcement institutions,” Mohib underlined in his speech at the 7th meeting of Commonwealth of Independent States.
