Over 60 complaints cases against Candidates Filed with ECC

Officials at Afghanistan’s Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) said Thursday that more than 60 complaints regarding electoral violations were filed with the commission since the launch of parliamentary election campaigns.


Officials at Afghanistan’s Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) said Thursday that more than 60 complaints regarding electoral violations were filed with the commission since the launch of parliamentary election campaigns.

ECC spokesman Alireza Rohani on the sideline of a consultation conference with women and the civil society, spoke about the candidates’ wide electoral violations during election campaigns.
“more than 60 complaints cases about the candidates’ violations filed with the commission since the launch of election campaigns and the figure is on the rise,” Mr. Rohani said.
The ECC spokesman said the ECC will seriously investigate and address the violations committed by the candidates.

The ECC held the consultation conference with the women to increase their participation in the election process, while the election commissions were hardly able to hire female employees in the provinces.
