Pakistani FM Meets President Ghani on Sideline of Trilateral Summit

Following the second round of trilateral summit among Afghanistan-Pakistan-China which was held in capital Kabul on Saturday, the Pakistani Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with president Ghani.


Following the second round of trilateral summit among Afghanistan-Pakistan-China which was held in capital Kabul on Saturday, the Pakistani Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with president Ghani.

Both sides discussed various issues regarding the two neighboring countries.
“The two sides discussed security, anti-terrorism and regional cooperation,” the presidential palace said in a statement.

On Saturday, the trilateral dialogue was held among the three countries at the level of FMs and signed a memorandum of understanding.
After signing the MoU, the three FMs attended a joint press conference to answer the reporters.
During the press conference, the Pakistani FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi talked about building a trust bridge and to avoid blaming each other.
“We should change our view in order to achieve a result. You have experienced many conflicts. We will reach nowhere by blaming each other; so we should work together to make peace in Afghanistan,” he said.

The Afghan FM Salahuddin Rabbani said that we discussed the fight against terrorism, political solution to end the war in Afghanistan as well as regional cooperation.
“We have focused on three main issues, security and counter-terrorism, economic development and regional connectivity, and consensus on Afghan-led and the Afghan-owned peace process,” he added.
