Pakistan’s foreign minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi will visit next Saturday, according to reports.
Qureshi will be first high-level Pakistani official to visit Afghanistan after former cricketer Imran Khan took office as Pakistani prime minister last month.

Qureshi to visit Kabul at the invitation of his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani a week ago to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation and the peace process.
During the phone call, the sides discussed ways to address challenges between the two countries after Pakistan’s consulate was closed in eastern Jalalabad city.

During his visit to Kabul, Qureshi will meet with President Ashraf Ghani and will invite him to visit Islamabad on behalf of Imran Khan, Pakistani Day News newspaper reported.

Last week, US Defense Secretary Mike Pompeo and Gen. Joseph Dunford visited Islamabad and asked them to take practical steps in the fight against terrorism.
