The election commission of the country announced the date for holding the parliamentary and district councils elections.



The election commission of the country announced the date for holding the parliamentary and district councils elections.
The election will be held on 20 October 2018, according to the commission.

“Voter registration for the upcoming elections is due to start on April 14, and then the candidate registration will begin,” said the chairman of the election commission Gula Jan Abdul Bade Sayyad in a press conference on Sunday.
“It is impossible to hold the election using the Biometric system, and the vote will be casted based on the citizenship identity card,” he added.
The head of the election commission also said the ballot box package will take six weeks.

Previously, there were speculations that elections would not take place at a given time, because the election commission cannot hold it.
It is worth mentioning the time to hold the parliamentary and district councils election had been set on 7 July 2018.
