Taliban officials announced that the distribution of passports has been suspended in the capital until further notice.
The General Directorate of Passports has announced that the distribution of passports has been suspended due to technical problems with biometric machines.
Alem Gul Haqqani, head of the passport office, said in a statement late Monday that the biometric machines were facing technical problems and were not storing information.
“The operation will be stopped for a few days in the capital. After resolving the technical problems of the biometric machines, the passport process will be resumed,” he added.
