“Participants of the Loya Jirga will freely express their views, suggestions, and advice about peace,” Arg said in a statement Tuesday, quoting president Ghani as saying.
“President Ghani also said that the peace advisory Jirga cannot be censored by anyone and that the peace limits will be determined by its participants,” president Ghani said.
According to him, the national, regional, Islamic, and international conditions have been provided for peace and this process has now turned into a reality.
Representatives from all provinces, districts, and various walks will attend the peace consultative Jirga and it must be considered as a national principle of Afghanistan.
“Afghan women will strongly participate at this Jirga, so, the female participants should not be less than 30 percent,” president Ghani added.
The head of commission holding Loya Jirga, Umer Daudzai, meanwhile, said that preparations are in full swing for holding the Peace Jirga.
“Representatives from Zabul province reached Kabul and representatives of other provinces will arrive in Kabul in the coming days,” he asserted.
The peace consultative Loya Jirga is set to be held in Kabul on 29 April 2019 for four days and the participants are due to reach a national consensus about peace.
