President Ashraf Ghani leading a high-level delegation paid an official visit to Kandahar province on Thursday morning.
The Presidential palace said in a statement that the purpose of the visit is to review the general status of the province.
Arriving at the province, President Ghani welcomed by the local officials, elders, and influential figures of Kandahar province.
“During the visit, the President will meet with local officials, elders, influential figures, scholars and representatives of women, youth, civil society, traders, and other strata to receive their demand and recommendations,” the statement added.
President Ghani’s trip to Kandahar comes as the province has recently witnessed Taliban attacks and internally displaced people.
