President Ghani Leaves Kabul for Davos Meeting: ARG

President M. Ashraf Ghani left Kabul for Switzerland on Wednesday morning to participate at Davos world economic forum (WEF), the presidential palace (ARG) said in a statement.


President M. Ashraf Ghani left Kabul for Switzerland on Wednesday morning to participate at Davos world economic forum (WEF), the presidential palace (ARG) said in a statement.

He will be leading a meeting on future of Afghanistan’s economy and growth as well as the country’s vital role in regional connectivity, the statement said.
Mr Ghani will also attend a luncheon to be hosted by WEF Chairman for World Economic Leaders.

On Tuesday, Chief executive of the NUG Abdullah Abdullah had attended a meeting in Davos and said that there are still many problems for peace with Taliban.
“Many changes have taken place in the past 18 years, but there are many problems to bring peace,” he said.
Abdullah mentioned that the main obstacle about peace is Taliban’s unwillingness to hold direct talks with the Afghan government.
