President Ghani Opposes Afghan War Privatisation

President Ashraf Ghani opposed the decision to privatise the war, saying he will not allow the foreign mercenaries to interfere in the Afghan war.

President Ashraf Ghani opposed the decision to privatise the war, saying he will not allow the foreign mercenaries to interfere in the Afghan war.

Speaking Monday at the national conference of mayors, Mr Ghani called on the mayors to share security issues with the people in order to provide the security.
“People’s cooperation is effective than any other measure,” he said. “current war is against religious brotherhood, national unity, and religious values. But you need to know that what the people of this soil can do, no foreign mercenaries can do. Foreign mercenaries will never be allowed on this soil,” he added.

This comes as Blackwater security firm Eric Prince said that privatising the war will soon put an end to it.
If the responsibility of the Afghan war handed over to Blackwater, thousands of professional and equipped troops will crack down on armed opposition fighters in Afghanistan.
