President Ghani to Visit Tajikistan soon

President Ashraf Ghani had a phone conversation with Tajik president Emomali Rahmon and it is expected that President Ghani will travel to Tajikistan in the near future, Arg said in a statement.

Both sides discussed strengthening mutual relations, expanding trade, and transit cooperation at the regional level, and particularly along the Amo river basin, the statement added.

President Ghani said that the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border would become a point of friendship and progress and would be an example of good friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon strongly supported the Afghan government-led and owned peace process, and promised to support the Afghan government’s position in regional and international meetings.

According to Arg’s statement, President Emomali Rahman invited President Ghani to visit Tajikistan for expanding bilateral, multilateral relations and co-operation.
The two sides agreed that the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will visit Tajikistan in the coming days and work on the agenda of the Tajik-Afghan Presidents’ Summit for further cooperation.
