Repeating History, from Communist Najib to Technocrat Ghani

If ARG palace wants to clear the government from other ethnic elders like Najib administration; this action will follow the same reaction as it did in the 1370s.

The International Crisis Group (ICG) wrote in its latest report that war will be intensified in 2018 in Afghanistan. According to the report, one of the contributing factors to the war is the inability of the current administration; because the government failed to hold the election at the determined time. The report also indicates, the new US strategy on Afghanistan faces serious obstacles and that the political analysts and the people were right concerning over the future of the country. Political analysts have repeatedly reported about the exacerbation of the status in Afghanistan.

What is a matter of concern for the people, is the monopoly of ARG palace and the repetition of history. 26 years ago, exactly at such time, officers from north rebelled against Dr. Najib Ahmadzai. Dr. Najib was afraid of Dostum taking power in the north, and had said: “what Dostum wants so much power and soldiers?” and as a result of a hasty move, dismissed several well-known officers in the north of the country. This incident encouraged northern officers to rise up against Najib in the 1370s. Their uprising collapsed Najibullah Ahmadzai’s government and eventually hanged him up in public. What conforms today’s history to the past, are the three points that exactly resemble 1370s and they are as follows: being another Ahmadzai in the central power, conflicts with north, ISIS taking grip – which at that time was Taliban – what can repeat the history is the action and reaction of ARG palace and heads of north of the country. If ARG palace wants to clear the government from other ethnic elders like Najib administration; this action will follow the same reaction as it did in the 1370s. Najib felt the Russians will stand beside him until the last level and therefore, instead of relying on the internal union, he counted on the Russian soldiers who eventually left him alone.

The central government should know that it is the people who support them not the foreigners in case of the exacerbated situation; because foreigners never confront the people. On the other hand, the government of Ashraf Ghani should not ignore Daesh taking power as Dr. Najib ignored the Taliban; because if the history would be repeated, the same phenomenon which today is ignored or even supported, tomorrow will carry out the same work as it did in 1371 and perhaps even worse.
