A belief has been posed in the formation of the National Unity Government (NUG) that Americans and the International Community is interfering in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. Many circles believe that Americans did not have a mediation role in establishing the NUG.
Former president Hamid Karzai in an interview with BBC said that 2014 election did not have any problem and the Americans defamed the election commission and the last presidential election, so that a weak government would be formed and they could easily interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.
The Americans and the International Community have clearly interfered in many cases of the country’s internal affairs so far, which, it affected the legitimacy of the government.
Earlier, an American Newspaper reported that US president Donald Trump has ordered Washington’s diplomats to provide the grounds for talks with Taliban group. The news received negative reactions in Afghanistan. The presidency, media outlets, and political parties all accentuated that Afghanistan’s role should be prominent in the negotiation process with the Taliban, and in presence of the Afghanistan government, why the Taliban should enter negotiations with the White House?

In fact, the US-Taliban negotiations had and will question the legitimacy of the Kabul government.
Taliban has always given a negative response to the government’s offer for peace negotiations. According to Taliban leadership members, the government of Afghanistan does not have legal and political legitimacy. Negotiations with Taliban, as well as the interference of Americans and the International Community in the country’s internal affairs, helped the Taliban to believe that Afghanistan government does not have legitimacy. Although efforts are made to the end the war in Afghanistan, unfortunately, it is still not clear which address should negotiate with Taliban.

The second deputy to the Executive Directorate and a member of the new formed Grand National Coalition Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq uncovered the interference of the International Community and the Americans in the country’s internal affairs. Addressing at a ceremony held to declare the existence of the Grand Coalition in Kabul, Mr Mohaqiq said the US embassy and the European Union did not want the return of the first vice president General Dostum to the country. The first VP was in exile for more than a year in Turkey, which Finally, with the efforts of the members of the Grand National Coalition, president Ghani accepted Dostum’s return to the country.

During the time that General Dostum was in Turkey, the public opinion was that Americans and the international community prevented the return of the first VP to Kabul.

American officials have always emphasized they will not interfere in Afghanistan’s domestic affairs and respect the Kabul decisions. But when relations between Ata M. Noor and president Ghani was dark, though, Mr Noor eventually left Balkh governorate after negotiations with president Ghani, Americans interfered in this matter as well. Some political parties protested, saying that Americans should respect Afghanistan domestic affairs.

The US and International Community’s interference in Afghanistan’s internal issues will not have good consequences and president Ghani himself should not let them. This comes as president Ghani has always accentuated that the Kabul government has autonomy.
