US and Russian military leaders meet on Friday in Finland to discuss relations between the two countries’ militaries and the situation in Syria.



US and Russian military leaders meet on Friday in Finland to discuss relations between the two countries’ militaries and the situation in Syria.
The top commands will discuss how Russian and Coalition forces can avoid conflict in Syria and exchange views on the state of US-Russia military relations.
The current security situation in Europe is also on the agenda, according to a press release issued by the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff in Washington D.C.
The US delegation is led by General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. while Army General Valery Gerasimov is heading the Russian delegation.
Finland will not participate in the meeting but both the US and Russia will hold bilateral meetings with President Sauli Niinistö and Jarmo Lindberg, the Commander of the Finnish Defence Forces.
