Salang Pass Closed for Second day

“Snowstorm continues and the highway will remain closed until workers can clear it,” he said. “three avalanches in northern part of Salang pass and two in southern part have occurred and there is the possibility of other avalanches as well,” he added.
He further said that currently the thickness of the snow reaches more than one and a half meters.

The Salang highway is one of the country’s largest highways connecting Kabul with at least 9 provinces in the north.
