Ta_liban Delegation led by Amir Khan Muttaqi Left Kabul for Norway
Ta_liban delegation led by acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi left Kabul Saturday morning for Oslo.
Inamullah Samangani, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, said on Friday the visit was taking place on an invitation from the Norwegian government.
On the sideline of the Oslo meeting on 23-25 January 2022, the Taliban delegation will also meet with US, EU diplomats as well as other Afghans, including women leaders, journalists, and human rights defenders.
“‘These meetings do not represent a legitimisation or recognition of the Taliban,” said Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt. “We are extremely concerned about the grave situation in Afghanistan, where millions of people are facing a full-blown humanitarian disaster,” added Huitfeldt.
