The Taliban group burned down a girls’ school in Takhar province, local officials confirmed on Monday.

Khalil Asir, a spokesman to Takhar police told media that the incident took place around 11:00 am on Monday.

Jawad Hejri, the spokesman of Takhar governor also said that the school in Bodla area of Taloqan city was set on fire by the Taliban militants.

Previously, the group had burned and destroyed a girls’ school in Shakardara district of Kabul province.
