Taliban have carried out six suicide bombings and 62 landmine explosions in the last 10 days which killed 63 civilians and wounded 180 more, the Afghan Ministry of Interior affairs said on Sunday.
“From 15 – 25 April, Taliban conduced six suicide bombings and 62 landmine explosions,” said the Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian.
According to him, extensive financial losses have been inflicted on the people as a result of these movements and attacks.
“In response to the Taliban offensive, a number of senior commanders and members of the group have been killed by government forces,” he added.
Taliban have not commented yet.
This comes as both sides accuse each other of killing civilians.
Last week, the Afghan Human Rights Commission (AHRC) said that at least 79 civilians had been killed and injured in 12 separate incidents in Farah, Parwan, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces in one week.
