Zabihullah Mujahid, who introduces himself as a Taliban spokesman, reacted and dismissed a recent report published by the New York Times on halting suicide attacks in the cities.

“the New York Times newspaper wrote a report, saying that Taliban spokesman told the paper that Taliban will not carry out suicide attacks in the cities,” Mujahid said in a statement. “such words have not been said to the News Paper,” he added.
“in response to a question of the New York Times journalist that why Mujahidin (Taliban group) have not carried out suicide bombings in Kabul and other cities since Eid, it was answered that operations take times in the cities. Mujahidin are cautious and try to carefully hit the targets,” Mujahid added.

The Taliban spokesman emphasized on suicide attacks in the cities and claimed that New York Times mischaracterized his words.
This comes as the American newspaper quoted from Zabihullah Mujahid that the leadership of Taliban has ordered the group to halt suicide attacks in the cities.
