According to provincial officials, a group armed men entered Sunday into the Baghlan police HQ around 12:00 am (local time) after they blew up a Humvee packed with explosives at the entrance gate.

“The casualties are high but the exact number is not clear yet,” a members of the provincial council told reporters.
“At least 30 wounded were taken to Baghlan hospital following the attack,” the provincial public health office confirmed.

Taliban claimed the responsibility, saying that dozens police officers were killed in the attack.
A Taliban fighter driving a Humvee packed with explosives blew himself up outside a police headquarters in the northern Afghan city of Pul-e-Khumri and other fighters opened fire on security forces there, the Taliban said in a statement.
However, according to reports, the Afghan special forces could enter into the police HQ to take the situation in control.
