Gunmen stormed Sikh temple, killing 25 civilians and wounded 8 others before they were gunned down by the Afghan security forces.

Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in a message that an operation by the security forces was over and all of the attackers had been killed. He did not say how many.
“25 people who had been in the religious compound had been killed, eight wounded and 80 rescued,” he added.
A Taliban spokesman in a message on twitter denied any role in the attack. However, ISIS terrorist group took the responsibility in a statement.

Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib strongly condemned the attack, saying that “this attack shows why a comprehensive ceasefire is a need and why we insisted on a peace process that puts an end to all forms of violence against the Afghan people”.

He applauded the valor and professionalism demonstrated by the ANDSF in the face of terror — rescuing worshipers, women and children.
