Trilateral Summit among Afghanistan, US, Russia will be held

Afghanistani and Russian officials have agreed to hold a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, the United States, and Russia.


Afghanistani and Russian officials have agreed to hold a trilateral meeting between Afghanistan, the United States, and Russia.
The time and place of this meeting have not yet determined but Afghanistani and Russian officials have stressed on how the meeting will be pursued through the relevant channels.

Ashraf Ghani met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Conference for Afghanistan, the presidential press office said in a statement.
Both sides discussed the successful ending of Kabul Process meeting, Tashkent conference on Afghanistan and peace process of Afghanistan.
Mr Ghani appreciated Moscow’s support from peace process of Afghanistan, saying regional cooperation and coordination is in the interest of the countries in the region.
We want to have economic relations with Russia, especially through exporting fruits and vegetables.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov meanwhile said Moscow backs Afghan own and the Afghan-led peace process and added our goal is stability in the region and expanding economic cooperation with countries in the region.

The Russian top diplomat suggested holding a trilateral meeting among Afghanistan, Russia and the United States.
President Ghani welcomed the suggestion of holding the meeting and said the meeting will be conducted through respective channels.
