Turkmen FM Discusses Start of TAPI project with “Islamic Emirate” PM

The start of TAPI and other development projects were discussed during a meeting between Turkmen Foreign Minister (FM) Rashid Meredov and the “Islamic Emirate” PM Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund in Kabul.


The Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said that both sides have discussed economic issues, trade, security, and humanitarian aid during the meeting.
During the meeting, it is committed to starting the TAPI project as soon as possible, Mujahid added.

According to him, it has been pledged to start the construction of the railway in two routes Turkmenistan-Jawzjan and Turkmenistan- Herat as soon as possible. The transfer of 500 volts of electricity to Herat with the construction of a new line is another issue that has been agreed upon.
Humanitarian aid in the critical situation of Afghanistan was part of the Turkmen FM commitment, Mujahid said.

The Turkmen foreign minister has also promised not to interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan, and stressed the independence of Afghanistan.
Meredov landed in Kabul on Saturday morning and was welcomed by the acting Taliban FM Amir Khan Muttaqi.
