Two districts of Takhar province were cleared of Taliban presence

Yangi – Qala and Khaja Bahauddin districts of Takhar province were cleaned up of Taliban presence, after military operations of the security forces.
According to (DID) news agency report, these operations had been started to clear the areas under the control of Taliban in Darqad, Khaja Bahauddin and Yangi-Qala districts four days ago.

Faqir Muhammad Jawzjani, Takhar’s police commander said: the security forces captured Taliban strongholds after a short conflict in Yangi – Qala and Khaja Bahauddin districts.
“Talban failed to stand up against security forces and escaped to villages of Darqad and Dashti – Archi districts of Kunduz province, which are under their control,” he added.

“Security checkpoints are created in areas taken back from Taliban, so that they cannot return back,” Takhar’s police commander said.
According to the commander of Takhar police, “Pamir 6” military operations in Darqad and other districts of this province will continue until all these areas be cleared of Taliban.
