The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has condemned Wednesday suicide attack, targeting civilians at a sports center which killed at least 22 civilians and wounded more than 75 others.
The first explosions occurred shortly after 6 pm when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives inside the wrestling gym.

An hour later a car bomb was triggered while journalists attended the scene to cover the incident.
The dead journalists were identified as Tolo TV reporter Samim Faramaz and cameraman Ramaz Ahmadi. A reporter and two cameramen of Khurshid TV as well as a worker of Maiwand TV were wounded.

“This latest cynical act of terror targeting ordinary citizens of Kabul, along with first responders and journalists, is deeply shocking,” said Tadamichi Yamamoto, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan.
“We join Afghans in expressing our revulsion at such a callous attack,” he added.

The gym where the attack took place is located in Dashti-e-Barchi west of Kabul.
In April, a suicide bomber killed nine journalists while they were covering another attack in Kabul.
