The United Arab Emirates hosted the US-Taliban reconciliation talks in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The two-day Afghan reconciliation conference fructified in tangible results that are positive for all parties concerned, Emirate News agency reported.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, who introduces himself as Taliban spokesman said that US withdrawal was discussed during the meeting, not election, interim government or any other internal issue.
“These series of meetings were also attended by representatives from three Islamic countries and the focal point of discussion was the withdrawal of foreign troops,” Mujahid wrote in Twitter. “The policy of Islamic Emirate about a ceasefire and talks with the Kabul administration, interim government, elections and other internal matters was already known beforehand and would not be discussed,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that another round of talks will be held in Abu Dhabi to complete the Afghanistan reconciliation process.
