Violence Against Women Up in Ghor: AIHRC

According to Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in Ghor province, violence against women has increased in the province as the entity recorded three cases of killing and three cases of female suicide in the first four months of the solar year.


According to Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) in Ghor province, violence against women has increased in the province as the entity recorded three cases of killing and three cases of female suicide in the first four months of the solar year.

The head of Ghor’s HRC Mubarak Rezayee told local media outlets that “the entity recorded three cases of killing and three suicide cases since the beginning of the year (solar year) which indicate violence against women leveled up in the province.”
According to him, in total, 29 cases of violence against women have been recorded with this entity since the beginning of the year.

“45 cases of violence against women have been recorded while 16 cases were severe violent acts, including murder and suicide attempts,” the provincial department of women affairs said.
