Why Shah Hussain Mortazavi Takes Stand against Iran?

We all agree that Afghanistan’s establishment is the symbol of national will and must rein its domestic issues, but the sentimental.

Hussain Mortazavi, the deputy spokesman to president Ghani, took a harsh stand against the Iranian government in a Facebook Post last week. However, the post had been deleted after a while.
“New Taliban Spokesmen!!? Iranian Foreign Ministry officials are now acting as Taliban spokesmen. If a neighboring country believes in a dialogue for a solution, why has it closed ways of dialogue with its own domestic opposition groups, including the Mujahedin-e Khalq? Why isn’t it taking action to solve its domestic problems through dialogue that has led Iran to a crisis for many years? Was not it better to hear the voices of Mir-Hussein Mousavi and Karroubi, instead of Taliban voice?” Mr Mortazavi wrote on his post.

Mortazavi’s remarks seem to be against the rhetoric of Iran’s Foreign Minister M. Jawad Zarif, who said in an interview in India that Taliban should have a role in Afghanistan, but not a dominant role.

Taliban are not talking with the Afghan presidential palace and has repeatedly announced the issue. Americans have entered talks with Taliban representatives. Afghan political parties want to talk with the Taliban. The neighboring countries have been mobilized to have a key role in the Afghan peace process. So, the presidential palace sees itself the first victim of the peace process and worries about being bypassed.

In fact, Mortazavi’s post reflects the concerns of the presidential palace on the issue of negotiations and the peace process. It indicates how fragile and disappoint the Afghan government is. We all agree that Afghanistan’s establishment is the symbol of national will and must rein its domestic issues, but the sentimental reaction of the deputy spokesman to the presidency shows the culmination of crisis with the management of the think tank. A crisis that blames others for its own failures.
