After inaugurating the process, president Ghani in his rhetoric called on Taliban to use the opportunity and participate in the election.
Meanwhile, the Taliban group has responded to President Ashraf Ghani’s call for the participation of the group in upcoming elections.
In a statement, the Taliban emphasizes that the fight against the foreign forces is still a priority for the group, claiming all the decisions on the political and military level are taken by the foreigners.
“Only those reach to power that have already been elected by the White House and Pentagon,” the group said in the statement. “Calling the elections a fake and theatrical process, stressing that the nation should not participate in the parliamentary and district councils elections.”
They (Taliban) examples the NUG that it was formed through the White-House; so, there is no expectation those will come to power in the upcoming election that are already elected by Pentagon and the White House.
