We Wisely Formed Etelaf-e Nejat to Have Key Role in Upcoming Election – says Gen. Dostum
Speaking via phone on the commemoration ceremony of the 577th anniversary of Amir Ali Shernawaye and Zahiruddin M. Babur, the founder of the first emperor of the Mughal dynasty in the Indian subcontinent, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum said: “negotiations with Taliban is impossible without him.”
Speaking via phone on the commemoration ceremony of the 577th anniversary of Amir Ali Shernawaye and Zahiruddin M. Babur, the founder of the first emperor of the Mughal dynasty in the Indian subcontinent, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum said: “negotiations with Taliban is impossible without him.”
Pointing to Etelaf-e Nejat (National Coalition for the Salvation of Afghanistan), Mr. Dostum added, we have wisely formed the Coalition and we will have a key role in the upcoming presidential election.
“We have wisely formed the Coalition and will have a key role in the upcoming election. No one can disrupt this Coalition,” Dostum said, speaking from Turkey. “I observe the situation in Afghanistan.”
“Now, I have a stronger role in Afghanistan’s situation despite the destruction of others. I have earned a place in the country’s history,” Mr. Dostum underlined.
Speaking of peace efforts and negotiation with Taliban, Dostum said that negotiations with Taliban in the absence of general Dostum, is not easy. Nether HPC nor can any other position do this.
“In order to negotiate with armed Opposition, first, differences among leaders of the government should be eliminated,” he stressed, saying he has enough experience to bring the armed opposition to the negotiation table.
Yet, Gen. Dostum emphasized that he will soon enter into Kabul.
