Wolesi Jirga Approves 6 Laws, including Int’l Agreements


Afghanistan’s House of Representatives approved six draft laws and International agreement with the majority of votes at the general meeting of the Parliament on Saturday.

At the meeting, the present members approved two international agreements, two legislative decrees of President Ghani and two draft amendments to the law.
The agreement between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan on asset transit and agreement between Afghanistan and Poland were approved by the representatives for political, economic and business cooperation.

In addition, the legislative decrees of President Ghani about the principles of commercial trials, the legislative decree renaming the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, amendments to the tobacco product law and amendments to article 22, paragraph 3, of the public utility law were approved.

On the other hand, the proposal to upgrade Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan Education Institute and Imam Abu Hanifah school to university was approved by the representatives and the dedicated commission was obliged to prepare a plan and submit it to the parliament.
